Environmental Policies

Environmental policy represents the first point for building the Environmental Management System (EMS). The Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority, represented by the General Administration of Environment, Occupational Safety and Security of Facilities, is keen on the commitment of all oil companies operating in the Republic of Yemen to follow environmental policies in accordance with international environmental specifications and standards to achieve the following minimum: :

- Reducing waste or any materials that may pose environmental risks, recycling and disposing of them properly

- Specifies obligations and pollution prevention

- Continuously improving environmental performance

- Preventing pollution

- Ensure that all practical measures are taken to comply with national and international laws and regulations on environmental protection

- Relying on an environmental management system that defines the goals and means of systematic evaluation of environmental performance

- Communicating environmental business objectives to all employees (employees) and all its customers, raising environmental awareness among employees, encouraging participation and training employees in environmental matters.

Social responsibility of productive companies

Article (9) on taxes and grants, specifically in paragraph 4.2.9 (social development grant), stipulates that the company (contractor) shall pay to the Ministry annually a grant to support social development, whether in the exploration stage, and the value of the grant agreed upon shall be doubled in the production stage starting from the date of commercial advertising.
