Data Bank Activities

The Data Bank Development Project (DPDB) and the petroleum Data Bank in Sana’a carries out many important activities to achieve their goals, such as the acquisition and development of programs and devices necessary to form the infrastructure to build an integrated information base for the petroleum industry in Yemen in accordance with modern methods and technologies. Here are some of the main activities of Data Bank:

Data collection

Data collection: This information is collected systematically to ensure its accuracy and integrity as in the following figure, which shows the types of data such as well’s data, seismic surveys, drilling, reservoirs and production, some of which are unprocessed and others processed, as well as studies and other information to the (DPDB), which collects them in databases so that they comply with the required formats for the delivered data with international standards in this field.

The (DPDB) reads all the media submitted by data subjects. In the event that some media cannot be read, the project will inform the designated data subject’s representative, and discuss corrective actions, if there are no clear steps. Here are some of the main activities of Data Bank:

Data Analysis:

The collected information is analyzed by a team of analysts specialized in the oil industry. Analytical tools, programs and techniques are used to understand trends and developments in the oil sector and identify potential opportunities and challenges. If the data is incomplete, the project sets up correspondence with the representative of the designated data subject to obtain the missing information.

Data upload and storage

Upload data into a database for seismic, well, fossil and daily production information (both new and old data). According to the policies and procedures of the project using the best international programs in this field, the figure below shows a description of some of the systems used in the management and archiving of data and information for oil exploration and production, in addition to programs that carry out analysis, forecasting and studies.
