The oil industry is one of the industries affecting the environment and the work in this industry involves many risks, especially as it is carried out in difficult and harsh conditions along with very dangerous equipment and machinery and with the risks of fires, explosions and deadly gases, and all these risks threaten the basic elements of production, especially the human being, who represents the real wealth of each country.

Accordingly, the General Directorate of Environment, Occupational Safety and Facility Security in the Authority is very keen to perform the tasks entrusted to it, which are to protect and preserve the environment through.

The Ministry of Oil and Minerals, represented by the Oil Exploration and Production Authority, believes in the need to protect and preserve the environment and protect the various elements of production, especially human beings from damage and loss, the Ministry of Oil and Minerals has established the General Administration for Environment, Occupational Safety and Facilities Security in the Authority in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. (226) of 2007 and Ministerial Resolution No. (32) of 2007.

Accordingly, the General Administration of Environment, Occupational Safety and Facility Security in the Authority is keen to perform the tasks entrusted to it, which are to protect and preserve the environment and protect production elements from damage and loss, by creating a mechanism to follow up the work of companies operating in the oil field and evaluate the situation of the environment, occupational safety and security of facilities. In these companies and contribute to finding appropriate solutions to limit or reduce environmental damage or affecting production factors.

Believing in the belief of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, represented by the Petroleum  Exploration and Production Authority, in the necessity of protecting and preserving the environment and protecting the various elements of production, especially humans, from damage and loss, the Ministry of Oil and Minerals established the General Administration of Environment, Occupational Safety and Security of Establishments in the Authority in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. (226) of 2007. Ministerial Resolution No. (32) of 2007
