Marine Environment

What is meant by the marine environment is all areas of salt water that represent a connected mass with interconnected parts, regardless of whether this connection is natural or artificial, and includes this mass aspects of marine life.

Given the strategic maritime location of the Republic of Yemen overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea, with a sea coast about 2,500 kilometers long, for this reason the Republic of Yemen has an international presence through its membership in international treaties and agreements to preserve the marine environment. The Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority, for example but not limited to it, is a member of the Environmental Protection Authority, the National Atomic Energy Committee, and the Maritime Affairs Authority, and therefore it participates in the marine emergency plan with the Maritime Affairs Authority and the Safer Exploration and Production Operations Company, and it had a major role through the participation of the General Environment Management team. And its professional safety in preserving the marine environment in the Red Sea with the rescue team of the Smit Salvage Company in the process of safe transfer of crude oil from the floating tank (ship SAFER) to the alternative ship YEMEN in July-August 2023.
